by Ryan Curtin
Feb 9th, 2010, 7:00 PM
Klaus Advanced Computing Building, room 2456
About the Talk
Many netbooks today ship without optical drives, making installation
from CD impossible. While bootable USB keychains are one method of
solving this problem, another is booting off the network (PXE boot; PXE
stands for Preboot eXecution Environment). This presentation will cover
the technical details of how PXE works and then will describe how to set
up your own PXE boot server.
About the Speaker
Ryan Curtin is a Ph.D. student in the field of machine learning. He has
no interesting biographical trivia.
