Might very well be, is Spaten Optimator German? I do remember it was in 
a bottle and was definitely German and when poured into a mug had 
similar color and consistency to Guiness but I seem to remember that the 
taste was different, a little heavier. I could have the name wrong, I 
never was very good with names.
