Boot is supposed to be on the mirrored WD drives on the mobo controller. The
3Ware controller is for the data drives which are also mirrored. I told the
installer to install to the WD drives. I assume once I get it booting off
the mobo, I can load the 3Ware drivers (if necessary) to get to the 3Ware
RAID, but the installer did see the drives on the 3Ware, so maybe the
drivers will have already installed.
Thanks Jim,
Going to try rescue now. If no go, I'll do a reinstall and babysit it more
than I did last time to see if there was some error that happened with the
previous install.
Just curious, but what would cause Grub to choke during install? The disc
check said it was a good burn, so maybe fingerprints on the disc? Cosmic
rays?
