They get to control it within limits.  My understanding is that they will
turn it off for no more than half hour.  And will leave it on for half hour
before turning it off.   I am interested in hearing from someone who
actually has one of these and has an opinion based on experience.

It is an incentive to allow them to install it.  They pay me $36 per unit.
 There is no direct cost to me.  I am concerned what the indirect costs
might be from someone with experience on the topic.
