[ale] collaborative work environment

We are using Subversion for everything too. Works well. There is also an
associated collaboration suite hosted by CollabNet, which is part of
Sourceforge. The suite is based on the Scarab open source project. CollabNet
handles all matters of hosting, setup and support.
