Ahh, the dreaded INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. Find the XP disk and restore
ATAPI.SYS or whatever miniport driver you need to access your hard disk
drives. You will likely find that a virus infected your miniport driver
and the AV quarantined or deleted that driver, making it impossible for
Windows to find the hard disk that it is installed on.

I've run into this while cleaning systems with (literally) thousands of
active infections and where the systems were so bad that it mostly had
to be done by hand, with components of Windows being replaced piecemeal.
While I couldn't reinstall (no OEM restore CD/DVD), I was able to use
binary components from an XP SP2 CD to bring the system back to a clean
and bootable state.

Good luck. The last time I did that, I invoiced enough to buy two new
computers running the latest version of Windows.
