I haven't been south of Atlanta much, but I can say that my T-Mobile
service has been pretty reliable everywhere that I have been from
Atlanta metro to Detroit, MI, both on and off the beaten path, so to
speak. There is one place in Ohio where T-Mobile doesn't cover that I
have been---but then again, there is *no* cell phone coverage there
whatsoever. I can about 10% of the time in that one particular location
get a local GSM carrier. Fortunately for me, roaming is free on our
plan.*

* Well, at least with the plan that I had at the time, it was. We've
since switched to the "Even More Plus" contract-less and subsidy-free
plan. I haven't actually checked the details on roaming on that plan,
since I roam almost never.
