[ale] PDF creation

Greetings all --

I'm starting to have a general need to combine PDF documents into a
single common file under F12 and am looking for recommendations on good
tools.  Don't need a full-blown editor rather a linux equivalent to
something I have already for M$ that will combine mulitple documents
into a single common file.
