Try booting under Knoppix or Ubuntu Live and see if you can see the
DVD there. If so, what driver is it bound to?
Then boot under Fedora and see if that driver is in the kernel... The
rest is left as an exercise for the student...

(ok, you would need install the missing driver, and I don't know where
to go for that under Fedora without
doing more research...)...
