Having just dodged a bullet when my powerbook was drenched- keyboard 
skins: a great investment!- that's precisely why I asked about the state 
of the microsoft refund process. I'd like to find the cheapest laptop I 
can find with a graphics coproc, or the MHD graphics chipset- but I plan 
on putting ubuntu on it from the word go.

There's a new Lenovo at $550 looks good, but we'll see.
