OK. Here's a pricey solution but if you can expense it then why not.
Adderlinks has a product called ipeps that is a kind of kvm over
ethernet. So you can remotely control a headless unit . One neat
feature is that you can have a virtual usb drive attached to the pc.
Make files on your PC look like they are on a usb stick plugged into
that machine.
Very cool.
On the cheaper side Belkin has these cables to do file copying.

Seems like you could use this to accomplish what you want as well.
