That shouldn't even be significant load on modern server class hardware.

Make sure you let the browsers cache the house pictures...

Circa 1992-3 I built and ran "CHRIS" the Chattanooga Housing and Realty 
Info System using TBBS, TDBS, a 16 port digiboard.. and had all of several 
county property tax databases and the local Realtor(tm) system running
on a single 486dx266  - The images were FIF's (Fractal Image Format)
and displayed pretty well at modem speeds. The trick to system performance
was indexing. It took about 10-20 hours to build indexes.
