[ale] OT: Out in left field or in the sewers of The Big Apple

I'm sorry, I have to agree with the parents on this one. Knowingly
leaving a manhole cover off without a barrier is unacceptable. We are
all eager to condemn a pop-tart on a cellphone, but as the father of a
1 & 2 year old I don't like the idea that there could be a > 2ft
diameter hole in a sidewalk.
