I think the senior comment may have been blown out of proportion  
though. I mean, lets say all there other guys have like a year or 2  
experience adming a *x based system. In comparison, a guy with 5 years  
would be considered senior. I've seen that particular word used with  
so much variation. I've seen job postings for Senior Unix positions  
that want 7+ years, and others that want 15+ years.

It's much the same for network jobs. I see listings for things like  
Junior Network Administrator's or Engineers that want an associates  
and a CCNA, but Senior positions that range from 5+ years and a CCNP  
to 10+ years and a CCIE (and usually a damn bachelor's degree to boot).

I think you have to look more at the duties the job entails than the  
titles involved. After all, it's not a very hard stretch to imagine a  
janitor being called a Senior Sanitation Engineer
