Oh yeah, one more point. Wireless standards change much quicker than 
wired ones do. My 10mb NeXT cube lives on the same switch as my 10/100 
Logitech Squeezebox and my 10/100/1000 server. I've got several devices 
that do run wireless- squeezebox boom, before I ran a drop- and putting 
in a security code without a keyboard and wireless config is not that 
cool. Aside from the fun of wireless config, I'd hate to have to keep 
around legacy wireless equipment and outdated wireless security 
standards just because of a device that could use a wire.
