Wireless is wonderful. It won't get you nearly 54gb, or even 54mb per
second, though. :)

One problem is that there are so many things that can impact the quality
of your wireless link. In my apartment I can see over a dozen other
b/g/n networks. My throughput isn't always great and my wifi connection
drops a few times a day. I've been nearly tempted to grab an 802.11a
access point :p.

My parents' house up north is mostly surrounded by seniors. You can
just barely see 1 other network (default linksys, too :p). Wifi is rock
solid and fast there.

Both of those make sense, but I have an enigma of an anecdote. My
brother in law lives in a sub division. Wifi is absolutely horrible in
his house. You can only barely see 2 other networks, and only if you
are in the right rooms of the house. Max speed is always lower than
here at my apartment and I get dropped much more often. It isn't an
equipment issue, I've tried improving it.

All I'm saying, in a long winded way, is that you can't always predict
how your wifi is going to perform. I would at least put a network drop
at the primary TV and wherever the office/desk/computer is going to sit.
Cable is cheap and it is easy to run before the drywall is up.
