[ale] 16 Gigs of RAM and still swapping!

Nothing else to say.

I've asked the software vendor and they say, "we recommend 64 GB of
ram"  ie. swapping is no surprise.

My cpu is only 80% idle waiting on swap to kick in, so at least I'm
getting some work done.  This task should finish by morning.
