[ale] Can some one recommend a good blog software

Wordpress has as many addons as Firefox. Akismet has already been mentioned.
I also use the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin. I've done 5 or 6 upgrades
with no problems. It backs up all the files into a zip file I download the
my PC.
