[ale] Basic Laptop for presentations question

BTW:

I forgot to say, on my laptop (a Dell Inspiron) the projector is
recognized during X setup.

That happens at least two times I've found.  One is of course during
bootup, but the other is when you logout of a KDE session.

So I found that if I was logged in with a single monitor setup and I
wanted to enable the projector, I just had to connect it up, logout
and back in and I was in dual monitor config.

Then when I'm done with the projector, just disconnect it and logout.
Then the next time I login I'm back in single monitor mode.

If the login screen is up, it is too late.  Obviously there are ways
to force a X-windows reset, but I'm talking about in the natural flow
of events.
