Markmail rocks. They do an excellent job of working with list admins
to import and index emails. They then subscribe to the list as a user
to keep their system updated. Their search index is dynamic, and as
soon as an email is sent to a list it is discoverable in MarkMail.

A good MarkMail qoute on where they fit is:

"Technical lists come in many flavors: pure open source (Apache,
JDOM), corporate-sponsored open source (Eclipse, Xen), standards
development (W3), technical user groups (NANOG), and groups focused on
proprietary technology (NetcoolUsers). We plan to expand along each of
these axes."
