sounds like a need to tweak the refresh setting in xorg.
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Unknown"
ModelName "Unknown"
HorizSync 30.0 - 110.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 150.0
Option "DPMS"
EndSection
This is a 19" LCD from viewsonic (va912b). I have seen that the screens
farther from 1024x768 format are much harder to get tuned well for Xorg. I
think part of the problem is the newer monitors no longer emit good data on
query about formatting thus all the stupid "driver disks" for windows.
It would be nice if there was a clearly defined manner to input the screen
dimensions in pixels as a starting point for the new, wide sizes (that are
not standardized ANYWHERE).
