On my 8.04 desktop I've switched from Evolution to Thuderbird thinking 
that the performance issues were in Evo.  Not the case.  As I 
investigate more I see Xorg spending many CPU cycles doing something.  
I'm just not sure what.  I've turned off all the 3D enhancements like 
Compbiz and I see no major performance improvement.

If i click from one mail box to another I see the cpu monitor go to 
100%.  In top I see Xorg at the top.
