Okay, that makes a little more sense than "ld" being launched via initd.

Sean, look for a line in /etc/inittab that begins `co:#:respawn:...`.
The 'o' might be a '0'. Either way, the quoted identifier should be in
the first field. The program that is being spawned is in the fourth
field. The program listed in the fourth field is what is causing the
problem.
