[ale] SEEKING REMOTE PRINTING EDUCATION

That solved it.

For the record, on the Ubuntu box I went to System-->Administration 
-->Printing and checked "Share published printers connected to this 
system."  I left "Allow printing from the Internet" unchecked, and it 
still works.
