not to go off topic but sometimes low tech works wonders:

1- mig welder

2- 72 feet of rebar

3- 16 T-55 Grade 8 Security TORX bolts with matching nut.

A simple cage for the condenser units should make it enough of a pain to get
at the copper that a simple motion detection system of any form could alert
authorities before they could get the cage off.

Unless of course they carry an angle grinder with them in which case a VERY
notable sound will be made trying to get your security measures out of the
way.
