[ale] firefox profile directory

I have multiple Linux distros such as Suse 9.3, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, Ubuntu 8.04, and Centos 4 for which I am trying to unify the home directories.  Since all the users are happy with using KDE I am able to use the KDEHOME environment variable to point to different subdirectories in a user's home directory.  Firefox has turned out to be a problem.  Does anyone know how to force Firefox to use something other than ~/.mozilla?
