[ale] Finally making progress with F8, tvtime, and sound

Sorry to take so long to reply, got busy with some family birthday travel 
and other issues.

I have been able to externally route between the tv card and the sound 
card as you do. For some reason, the internal routing doesn't want to work 
for me yet. Very confusing for me, but ...
