Lol
Vista not bad for normal end users?
Meaning normal end users never try to get printers and other devices
that worked flawlessly with their older XP system but now can't be made
to work on Vista even with a gun pointed to its head?
Your parents may have been lucky or maybe just do minimal things. The
few people I know that have tried Vista (including at least one
professional Windoze Admin) think its sucks wind.

Well you've got to admit, with all the bad publicity Microsoft has
been getting about Vista, this is a good move for them. I sat and
watched a couple of the videos and anyone with any technical aptitude
whatsoever knows better, but for the folks who see those shorts, and
think 'Hey, this person is just as computer dumb as I am, and they're
saying it's easy!', it may gain Microsoft some points.
My parents both have Vista on their laptops (came pre-installed) and
they haven't complained over much about it. And Vista isn't *bad* for
normal end users. It's shortcomings only really affect power users and
those who have never tried it before, but have a tendency to believe
all the bad hype they hear about anything.
So I applaud Microsoft for their attempt to turn their image around.
It was smart of them to avoid any nasty ads (like the Apple ones....
they've just been vicious this year, and there isn't anything
Microsoft can really say to respond to it).
