[ale] Surprised by tab expansion

All,

I've been doing tab expansion for a long time, but today I could only
remember the middle portion of a dir name.

So I typed "cd /..../*123*/"

I then hit tab even though I was sure it would not work.  Instead my *
chars were replaced by the correct data.  Very cool.
