[ale] SUSE CD's don't work-keyboard dead

ok, I trashed my system and now I want to reinstall openSUSE.
I downloaded the i386, the X86_64 DVDs and neither would work. the SLED 
DVD I got in my linux magazine also wouldn't work.
When I boot from them, my keyboard is dead. I can't move or change the 
menu item that is selected ( default is boot from hard disk).
Debian & ubuntu Cds worked fine. something on those CDs is killing my 
keyboard.


Anyone???
