If you're using one of the servers with a management NIC etc. you
should be able to find a stonith module for heartbeat (linuxHA) that
will issue the poweroff commands that way.
That way you only have to buy one smart device (per server), not 2.
FYI: The heartbeat team basically considers stonith mandatory for any
real production servers.
