Oddly enough, I did consider that possiblity. However, before posting, I 
was able to look up a little bit on the modem/router, which is what I've 
tried to post it as, a modem and router combined. As such, I was pretty 
sure that BellSouth/ATT wasn't bonding the connection to the mac address 
(or what ever the proper description of the process is). That part of the 
problem was apparently just the phone company having trouble handling 
anything but POTS.
