Although many people don't like living in Gwinnett County, there are some pretty good schools, and nice neighborhoods. The area from Lilburn up through Lawrenceville, and over to Peachtree Corners has a fairly good selection of neighborhoods with decent schools and a reasonable lifestyle.

There should be some information on the schools at http://www.gwinnett.k12.ga.us/ that you can sift through. My children went to Gwinnett County Schools, and with reasonable parental guidance, we didn't have any druggies or any other social problems. As with all schools, you need to be aware of the potential for gangs and other "organizations", but parental involvement is the key to those issues.

You will want to look carefully at the neighborhoods in this area, but we have lived in Gwinnett for 20 years, and have had no real problem. We live in an ethnically mixed world, with a broad variety of nationalities, but we have had absolutely zero problem with anyone in any neighborhood we've lived in. Again, we did some research before we bought our homes.

We will probably be moving out further in a few years, but that's because we don't have any children at home now and neither of us needs to live in close to town for work. We don't have to have the big house, either. We won't move a log way though, as we have too many friends and there are too many good restaurants in the area.
