IMO, that's still a broken implementation.  Windows backup (or any 
decent backup system) should be able to split backups on arbitrary 
boundaries: 700MB for CD-R, 4GB for FAT32, or 4.7GB for DVD+R.  
Unfortunately we don't all have Blu-Ray or HD-DVD burners where we back 
up whole partitions in a single shot.  :)

I *BELIEVE* ghost can split files, as I know ghost can be done from 
optical media.
