[ale] Linux supported USB modem

Until I was a victim of a lightning strike, I used a US Robotics voice
fax modem pro model 0525. Worked perfectly with RedHat 8 (it was that
long ago).
I have seen PCI-express risers that provide a PCIX or PCI slot. Might be
a straight one around....
