In this day and age, "same subnet" can be deceiving.  For instance
Level3 has DNS servers at 4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2, 4.2.2.3, and 4.2.2.4.  But,
if you do some testing, you can easily see that they are all behind on
router. ;-)
