Thanks. That's definitely in the same family, if not the same card. Looks
like my problem is related to a problem in the PCI slot itself, as moving
the card to a different slot yields immediate results with skge, while the
card I switched it with now only shows up on every third run or so of lspci.
I'm very surprised that the machine isn't locking up at all, which is why I
initially was reluctant to look suspiciously at hardware.
