I've been amazed at the quality of the audio when I've used Skype for 
computer to computer conversations.  Granted that's a bit more difficult 
than PSTN but perhaps the more ways of skinning a cat they have, the 
quicker it'll get done?  (Apologies to the Musicians and cat lovers)
