I personally find web-based forums a royal pain, and a lot less useful than
mailing lists or newsgroups. I can consolidate all of the mailing lists or
newsgroups I read into one program, and thus get easy reminders of when there
is traffic on them. With Web-based forums I have to remember to visit each
different forum, which generally means that I use them much less often. Not
to mention that each one has a different interface.

Heh. As an old Babylon-5 fan, this definitely made me look twice.
