James,

The upgrade and update went off w/o a hitch, but the kernel installation
came
back with the complaint that the kernel installation required  initrd-tools
>= 0.1.48 but....0.1.12 is what is installed.

Do you recommend simply removing initrd-tools  ?

Then what, another update, upgrade, then kernel install  ?
