If you don't mind using a(nother) CD-R blank, one trick I've found
worked well on older hardware is to burn the ISO to CD-R (_not_ CD-RW)
at 4x (slow, slow, slow). Systems that puked on an otherwise good burn
(good md5 checksum, worked on new hardware) either to CD-RW or CD-R at
higher speed had no problems with the one burned at a slower speed.
