[ale] Thunderbird attahcements don't work, anyone else made it work?

Well, the only problem with that is that Thunderbird never gives me an 
option to tell him what to do with the attachment when I double click on 
it.  Scratching my nose is more rewarding than double clicking.  I even 
tried a right click/open, but that does nothing.  It just ignores me.
