I have an HP DeskJet 3820. It is a cheap printer with no networking
capabilities. However, HP once provided drivers for the printer
specifically for those who want to use it via a network share -- they
no longer do. I even tried contacting their tech support about the
missing drivers (the transcript is below; hilarious and sad). I ended
up having to buy a print server
(http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/products/wps870g/default.asp?sSection=home_networking)
that includes a Windows program for faking the printer on Windows
machines. I was then able to use the regular driver package to install
my printer on my XP machine. The print server is not quality but it
gets the job done.

The Deskjet 3820 is not a Network printer and hence the Network
drivers are not available for the same.

Amy
However, if you want to share the printer in network, I can provide
you the steps to configure.

James Sumners
It is _already shared_.

Amy
You mean it is shared and working fine from both Host and Client computers?

James Sumners
Why would I be talking to you if that were the case?

Amy
Fine, please let me know the version of Windows on both the Host and
Client Computers.

Amy
Using this I can provide you a easy steps to configure both Host and Client.

James Sumners
Madam, Windows is not installed on the host computer.

James Sumners
I know that there is a network driver for this printer because I have
downloaded it and used it before.

If you are not able to provide me with a link to it I will just
continue searching for someone who will.

Amy
