[ale] dialup chatscript failing...help please !

The O'Reilly book on PPP was what I used alot for reference and it was very helpful with dealing with dialup PPP connections. You do have to get the serial connection working before starting PPP so from what you've said, I don't think you've even CONNECTED yet to trade login and password.
