I'm going to agree here.  I don't know about Groupwise, I've never run
or used it.  At my current site though we've been very pleased with
CommuniGate Mail form Stalker software (http://www.stalker.com/content/default.html).
It is very simple to set up, very configurable and the software price is
reasonable.  Our server runs 350 Users around the country (some overseas)
and has been up for 442days with 0 maintenance from us.  The
configuration is web based (point and click goodness for the windows
admins) and the client has IMAP and web interfaces.  I'ts currently
running a load of 0.41 on a dual P4-2.8Ghz.
