I...thought... sendmail was part of the base install.
I have :

postfix-2.2.5-5
and
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root 18864 2005-09-09 14:33 /usr/sbin/sendmail

but now I see they are mutualy exclusive:
# smart install sendmail 

Installed packages (1):
  sendmail-8.13.4-8 at i586

Removed packages (1):
  postfix-2.2.5-5 at i586

1.2MB of package files are needed. 2.1MB will be freed.

Confirm changes? (Y/n):  n


so I can have postfix  OR sendmail?
