[ale] Boot failed

I went through similar confusions a few weeks back. I had a SATA drive all
by itself (sda) and a IDE drive (hda) on primary master. I ran grub-install
against both sda and hda with two different grub.conf, since who's hd0
depends on which device grub-install is running against, use '-recheck'
first to be sure.
When I have grub on only one of them (can't recall which exactly now), I
will get 'boot fail, press enter to continue'. It find grub on the 2nd drive
once I press 'enter'. I guess it'd be simply 'boot fail' if your BIOS is not
tolerant or informed enough to seek more boot devices among hard disk group.
