[ale] shifting permissions

Interesting to me.   If you mount it back as the user are the 
permissions correct?   I don't know the convention for *nix on mounting 
external devices and ownership there of.    Of course udev could be 
messing with your head.   And you may have to do some setups to get that 
right.
