I've always been a bit suspicious of the BS copper that they (have?) to
provide to their competitors.
BS used to be able to charge *whatever* for high-speed network access
(several hundred for ISDN, several thousand for T-1, and on up the
chain), and keep the vast majority of the $$
Now, BS provides copper only to companies like Cbeyond who then provide
the customer with a 'value added' T-1 circuit for $500.
Perhaps a bit overly simplistic, but I believe it's pretty accurate.
