Yeah, they guard that info like it's gold.  I just told them when they 
got there that I was installing a Linux box.  The guy asked me if it 
could do pppoe.  They wouldn't touch it, but I wouldn't let them go 
until I got my laptop to connect first.

Modem doesnt' apply in my case, nothing but a jack that ethernet is 
connected to.

That's what I set up my mother-in-law with as well.
